TROUBLE BRUIN: AFTERWORD
Thanks for reading Trouble Bruin. This is my fourth full-length
graphic novella, my third in two years, and I'm just as proud of it as I am of my
Hondle trilogy.
Bruin is the second book that I've produced by the traditional
plot-pencils-inks-dialogue method, but to my mind, it is far more accomplished than this summer's
Experihondle:02. I hope you'll agree that this slight increase in technical
proficiency has not affected the energy of the story.
Bruin will likely be my last extended story for a while. I've spent most of 2006 drawing my own comics – just
over 100 pages worth, in fact – and I need to refocus my energies towards writing
comics for other artists to illustrate, as that is where my real skills lie.
But don't think that I've given up the bingo markers just yet. There'll be more short strips appearing on the site
in due course.
But, for now, let me just say thanks for reading (again) – especially if you bought the novella at the Birmingham
Comics Show, or are planning on buying the book through the website. Enjoy the rest of the
site. And I'll see you in the New Year.
Matthew Craig, Hondletown, December 2007.
